Bella is a great representation of a "plain jane". I think that's why so many girls love this saga. They can connect to it (minus the vampires). I think she is pretty strong. She knows what she's getting into, and tries to be careful. But she can't deny her love for Edward. She just tries to get by in life.
She just seems like someone who we all could be and she is not weak. she is stronger than she appears, which I think is a great quality.
I think Bella is definitely strong. However, she often lets her guard down, sometimes at the worst times. This does not lessen her strength, quite the contrary; it tests her ability to regain composure and a sense of reality.
